It is with great
sadness that I have to inform you all that Robert Wallace has lost
his battle with cancer and passed away at midnight Tuesday 3/4/2019
our condolences and sympathy go out to his wife Jacqui, daughter
Paula, Julie his granddaughter Clara who he doted on and the
extended family. Robert was not only my good friend but also my
mentor, small in stature but with a huge heart, I always say the
biggest wee man I have ever known. Robert his brother Jeff and
his three nephews Andrew, Richard and Clifford all fly models, and you all know
Robert from his work in the Area as an Area Chief Examiner, also
competing it was only about nine months ago he won the Kinsella Cup
with his immaculate Lysander complete with miniature copy of The
Ballymena Guardian in the cockpit, he was for most of his working
life a photographer for the Guardian. An accomplished modeller he
will be remembered not only for his scale aircraft which he put a
huge amount of effort into building but also by the vast amount of
people he taught to fly models and countless others that he helped
in the hobby. He will be sadly missed on the modelling scene.
Robert had one fault he always saw good in people.
Regretfully Terry
Jones
