It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and fellow Aeromodeller, Maurice Doyle.

Maurice began his journey in aeromodelling with free flight in 1952, later transitioning to Control-line flying.

In 1971, he founded the NIAA and remained an active and dedicated member, serving as Secretary, Area Delegate, and Chairman over the years.

Maurice was a highly respected and influential figure within the BMFA, known for his significant contributions to both the Full & Area council. In recognition of his dedication, he was awarded the fellowship of the SMAE in 2020.

His passion for model flying was infectious, and he will be greatly missed by the NIAA community and beyond.
